On January 29, 2026, the MEJ held its second annual event. The MEJ Speaker Panel, hosted by Ethan Podkameni-Brown, featured four insightful speakers: Amy Janzwood (Assistant Professor in the Department of Political Science and the Bieler School of the Environment), Alessandro Navarra (Professor in Mining Engineering), Olabisi Olawole (M.Eng. student in Sustainability in Engineering and Design) and Juan Rodriguez Torres (Undergraduate McGill Student). The conversation on extraction of energy resources included thoughtful moderator questions, as well as multiple interactive elements with the audience and an involved Q&A. The panel was followed by light food and drink, fostering a warm and welcoming space for continued conversation.
